"It's all about the people" has been a viable catch
phrase for anyone and everyone to use. It is very appropriate when describing the mission of the Madison County Historical
Society. The Society seeks to honor our ancestors, our culture and our history through education, research, discussion and
exhibits. The preservation and restoration of artifacts, the collecting of stories and books and family histories is an intriguing
journey of discovery. Our volunteers give of their time, energy, experiences and knowledge to the benefit of the community
and the Society. Come join us in our effort to make our community better by caring for and sharing the knowledge we have
of our rich and wonderful heritage. The Society not only seeks members and sponsors, but
also volunteers. Can you hammer a nail straight? Do you type? Do you write articles and express yourself well in print?
Or, do you have a special talent? Volunteers are needed for all sorts of endeavors and you might just enjoy being with very
gracious and selfless people. If any of this sounds like you, please stop by our office in the History Center and talk to
